NOW HIRING:

  • Volunteer Coordinator: Groundworks is currently seeking a creative, friendly, and self-motivated individual looking to help build the position from the ground up. Duties include managing staffing schedules, scheduling meetings/activities, and more

    • $15-$20 / hr (based on experience)

    • 10-20 hr / wk (part-time)

    • Flexible hours, hybrid in-person/remote, artists and creatives encouraged to apply

    • No experience necessary, but a background in nonprofits, education, the arts preferred (must be 18+)


ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS

For those interested in a more integral role into Groundworks’ operations, we have opportunities for volunteer staff to fill out our core administrative team. This team is responsible for executive decisions at Groundworks and will require a regular 6-12 month commitment to working for the organization (role dependent). Roles include gallery coordinator, booking chair, marketing director, website manager, social media manager, and more. While these roles are unpaid, stipends and educational credit may be available, please email info@groundworkstucson.com with questions.

Requirements:

  • Must be over 18 years old

  • Must obtain, hold, and maintain a valid fingerprint clearance card

  • Relevant experience and/or education preferred

  • A minimum commitment of approximately 2-4 hrs/wk, but can be scheduled around your availability

Mural Artists: Groundworks is seeking muralists of any age/experience to paint murals for our physical location.

  • Specifically highlighting youth under 24, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ artists

  • We provide supplies as requested

  • Rates start at $50+ depending on size/scope

We ALWAYS need general help from volunteers to keep the space going. No experience required!

Groundworks is always seeking volunteers of any age who are interested in helping to fulfill our mission to promote the youth-driven music and arts community in Tucson. Learn the ins and outs of nonprofit operations, experience local art and music first-hand, and join a community of amazing creatives.

  • Active Volunteers:

    Active Volunteers are regularly involved in the space and contribute to program development and decision-making at Groundworks. In order to qualify as an Active Member, you will need to attend at least one volunteer meeting per month.

    The perks of being an active volunteer are:

    • Key holder status

    • Free use of space/facility/supplies

    • First look at what's coming up next at GWX

    • All public GWX events are free to you and a guest

    Auxiliary Volunteers:

    If you're not interested/able to be an active volunteer, we will still need your help! Auxiliary Volunteers are less regularly involved with the space, and provide help whenever they can. These volunteers may sign up for individual events and one-off projects that will be sent out via email. text goes here

  • Develop GWX programming

    • Plan concerts, gallery shows, and educational opportunities

    • Event logistics and delegating responsibilities

    • Book performers for venue shows

    Staff venue shows

    • Door Staff: sell tickets and concessions, pay out performers

    • Sound Engineer: live sound mixing

    • Graphic design work: provide designs for show fliers and social media posts

    Everyday responsibilities

    • Staff regular hours and perform receptionist duties

    • Help out with one-off activities and chores (e.g. moving, organizing)

    2. Attend a New Volunteer Meeting. They are usually held on the 2nd Monday of the month from 4-5 PM with an optional sound orientation meeting from 5-6PM at Groundworks (2919 E Grant Rd). Email us to confirm! Meetings are in-person, but can be made virtual upon request.

    3. After you fill out the form and come to a meeting, check your email regularly for updates on volunteer opportunities. (Don’t forget to check your spam folder!)
